Explain My Labs is designed to handle sensitive health related information. While Explain My Labs is not a healthcare provider and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, we apply safeguards aligned with the principles of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, commonly known as HIPAA, to help protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of health related information submitted to our service.

- Health and lab data is retained until you delete it in the app, delete your account, or request deletion from us
- Limited data may be retained for a short period for backup, audit, legal, fraud prevention, or compliance purposes

Deletion Timeline
- Personal and health related data in active systems will be deleted within 30 days of a valid deletion request
- Encrypted backup copies may remain for up to 60 days before automatic deletion or overwrite
Once deletion is completed, your deleted data cannot be recovered from active systems.
8. Children's Privacy
Explain My Labs is not intended for children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the effective date above.
