This page explains how Explain My Labs approaches the handling of health related information using HIPAA aligned safeguards. It is intended to provide transparency about our practices and should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Explain My Labs provides educational summaries, trend views, and informational tools based on user provided lab and health information. We are not a hospital, physician practice, health plan, or healthcare clearinghouse.

Health related information may be used to provide the service, generate educational explanations and summaries, improve the user experience, maintain security, respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell health related information. We may share information only with vendors or service providers that help us operate the service, when legally required, or when necessary to protect the rights, safety, security, and integrity of users or the platform.

5. Retention and Deletion

Health related data is generally retained while your account is active or until you request deletion. You may request deletion at any time by emailing help@explainmylabs.co. Data in active systems will be deleted within 30 days of a valid request, and encrypted backup copies may remain for up to 60 days before automatic deletion or overwrite.
